Bell Integrator Deploys a Unique Fault Management Solution at MegaFon (LSE: MFON)
This project has become the key component of the Company's event and network management system under one umbrella Operations Support System (OSS), which is aimed at ensuring operational excellence and costs reduction.
The uniqueness of the project in terms of scale stems from the fact that MegaFon has a highly distributed multi-vendor IT infrastructure, which consists of hundreds of management systems and thousands of units of network equipment spread across 15 regions. Bell Integrator has consolidated all the Company's technologies in various locations under a single monitoring and management solution. This enables the system to automatically detect emergency events and quickly resolve them.
Besides, Bell Integrator has also improved the monitoring system's operational metrics. The root-cause analysis functionality, together with the automatic trouble ticket creation, has decreased the total number of events that require human interventions. Bell Integrator has successfully implemented an end-to-end alarm information collection and correlation and deployed an interface, which presents the information in a unified, real-time view. This enables MegaFon operators, including even those without any special skills, to establish complex connections between alarms, create and modify the correlation rules in the system.
To ensure failure-free operations, the monitoring system was based on two independent DPC.
Bell Integrator's extensive experience in OSS projects, together with long-term and strong partnership with IBM, has made it possible to deliver this project in just nine months.
“Bell Integrator has successfully deployed the largest Fault Management System in Eastern Europe, an extremely important milestone in MegaFon's OSS project,” Eugene Chermashentsev, the Infrastructure Director, MegaFon, said.
